LEAD lab is a team of highly motivated individuals interested in conducting research in psychology and law. Our research uses social and cognitive psychological methods and theory to explore aspects of decision making in our legal system. Under that umbrella, most of our work explores juror and jury decision making, eyewitness identification, and other antecedents or consequences of wrongful conviction. Our goal is to understand the social context and other factors that affect legal decision making and to develop methods that help actors in the legal system make the best decisions that are more likely to result in just outcomes.
